The Beach House has always endeavoured to be as environmental and economical with resources as possible.
With the recent installation of our rain water harvesting tanks we are now able to supply the property with substantial water collected from these tanks.
The water is used for laundry, washing cars, filling the swimming pool and maintaining the gardens and property as well as anywhere untreated water can be used.
Our long term goal is to be 75% self-sufficient in our provision of water. Our current self-sufficiency is 38%. We believe this is a trend that needs to be embraced for the future and is just good sense to use resources that are freely available.
We are also passionate about our use of local meat, produce, farm fresh eggs and dairy wherever possible and are always looking for healthier options for our guests.
